Anxious?

Anxiety is such a common problem, almost all of us have experinced it at some time in our lives and I'm certain all of us will have by the time we're past caring.  For many of us it's an ongoing reality we live with day in day out...some days are just better than others.

It is so common a problem in todays society many people live with it as their normality and don't realise they have it...others dismiss it as if it's amost a neurotic indulgence to claim to be anxious. I can tell you from experience it is far from trivial...infact, the consequeces of un managed anxiety can be devastating to your physical health, and emotional health, and equally potentially devasting to your social health and wellbeing.

Since this is such a big topic I will take it piece by piece and organise the headings as I go..
The logical place to start would be to describe what anxiety is...the explanation is lenghty!

First there is the academic understanding of anxiety, it's symptoms, it's causes and it's treatments.
Then there is the experiencial understanding of what anxiety feels like and what it does, to you, your life, your health....your entire sense of who you are and what you are capable of achieving or becoming.

Anxiety is a block to your well being and needs to be recognised, understood, addressed and managed if you are going to live a flexible, and fulfilling life.
